The Heart of a Leader – Part 4

Heart of a Leader – Part 4
A Leader Loves the Lord as Jesus Loves the Lord

In the book of Luke, Jesus was having a conversation with an expert in the law. At one point in this conversation the expert asked Jesus the following question, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” Look at Jesus response…

Luke 10:26-28 26 “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”
27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
28 “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”

Jesus takes all of the challenges presented by the Law and He boils it down into two statements – Love God and Love others. This is the key to life and success as a Christ follower. And as a leader, there is no better foundation than to love God and love people.

I encourage you to take an honest assessment of how much love you have first for God and then others. If you are lacking, ask God for His assistance in becoming more loving.
