New Hope

Life is tough. There are times when it can get the best of you. I know. I’ve been there. God has brought me through some challenging times in the not so distant past.

I would love to say that my faith was never shaken, but that would be a lie. I would love to say that doubt never crept in, but that would be a lie. I would love to say that I never questioned God, but that would be a lie. And I would love to say that I’m that I’m completely past the past, but that would be a lie.

There are days when yesterday overpowers my today and robs me of the present. It doesn’t happen as often as it did, but it still does.

My only remedy is to place my hope in the one who created us all. My only solace is to trust the one who has brought me this far. I take comfort in His Word. Philippians 1:6 tells us…, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. God started a good work in me way back in college and He won’t stop until I am without breath.

I don’t know where you are right now. I don’t know what struggles you are facing. I don’t know what you’ve had to overcome. But, I do know the overcomer! Jesus gives us this encouragement in John 16:33, But take heart! I have overcome the world. He is helping me and He will help you.

Please allow me to leave you with one last word of encouragement and blessing. It’s found in Romans 15:13, May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

May this new year bring with it New Hope! May you find hope, comfort, and peace in the One who loves you more than you can imagine.
