The power of questions is noted throughout history…
“It is not the answer that enlightens, but the question.” – Eugene Ionesco
“Question everything. Learn something. Answer nothing.” – Euripedes
“A wise man can learn more from a foolish question than a fool can learn from a wise answer.” – Bruce Lee
“A prudent question is one-half of wisdom.” – Francis Bacon
“The marvelous thing about a good question is that it shapes our identity as much by the asking as it does by the answering.” – David Whyte
“We learn more by looking for the answer to a question and not finding it than we do from learning the answer itself.” – Lloyd Alexander
“If you do not know how to ask the right question, you discover nothing.” – W. Edwards Deming
Questions fascinate me because of where they can lead. Great journeys of discovery begin with a simple question.
How?
What?
When?
Where?
Who?
Why?
Once asked, they open the door to whole new realms of opportunities in all areas of life. Here are just a few questions to get you thinking…
What can you do today that will make your tomorrow better?
How can you be a better friend?
How can you be a better student/employee?
What do you want people to say at your funeral?
Questions are powerful. They can unlock the door to your full potential. Never stop asking. Never stop seeking. I believe you can discover more than you ever thought imaginable as you continue to follow the lead of great query.
I’ll end with quoting one of history’s greatest philosophers, Socrates, “An unexamined life is not worth living.”
